Our scientist are experts in analyzing cost saving metering station maintenance for allocation systems. Next week Ranveig Nygaard Bjørk will present this at the European Flow Measurement Workshop 2017 in the Netherlands.
Bjørk has together with her colleagues Astrid Marie Skålvik, Camilla Sætre and Armin Pobitzer performed this work. At the European Flow Measurement Workshop 2017 in the Netherlands she will present the whole package. As Bjørk explains, there is a potential for major cost savings in doing things smarter:
“Metering station maintenance, including calibration and sampling procedures, represent a significant operational cost. With the increased focus on cost-savings, intelligent maintenance strategies are more important than ever. Potential savings associated with a maintenance strategy need to be weighed against its consequences. In allocation systems, metering station maintenance impacts the allocation uncertainty and, consequently, the risk of lost revenue. In this work we introduce a new methodology for efficient and intelligent maintenance planning based on allocation uncertainty and exposure to economic risk.”
